Rhododendron 'Golden Dawn'

Life form: Shrub - evergreen
Comments: Habit: Large shrub to small tree.
Foliage: Bold oblong-elliptic leaves, silvery below, dark green above.
Flowers: Large umbels of 10-12 funnel campanulate, 7 lobed, light yellow, faint spotting inside. October flowering.
History: Raised by George Huthnance in NZ from open pollinated R. macabeanum seed. George was a specialist (budding and grafting) propagator in Taranaki on Carrington Road (Huthmans Nursery).
