Foliage: Lanceolate, glossy green, brown scales below, 90 x 30mm.

Flowers: Small sulphur yellow, 8-9 funnels per umbel, spotted upper lobe, October.

Bark: Attractive mahogany coloured bark.

History: R. xanthostephanum X R. burmanicum. Hybridised, named and introduced by J. C. Williams, Caerhays Castle, UK.

Further information: Available from New Zealand rhododendron nurseries.
