Comments: Habit: Medium compact shrub that grows to be around 3m x 3m.
Foliage: Dark green elliptic leaves, rolled down at edges, to 200mm x 75mm, matt, remains of brown fluff on veins below.
Flowers: 24 per umbel, funnel bell-shaped, rich red with waxy glossy sheen. November-December flowering at Pukeiti.
Additional notes: occasionally available at select New Zealand Rhododendron nurseries.
