Foliage: Lanceoate to oblong green leaves. The underside with golden or brown scales. Midrib usually hairy for a large part of its length.
Flower: 2 - 6 flowers per truss. These can vary in colour from pale blue to deep lavendar-blue. Mauve to violet mauve.
Additional note: The most distiguishing feaure of augustinii are the hairs on the midrib.
