Comments: Habit: Has a loose habit, which can tend to be sprawling over time.
Foliage: Narrow green leaves that have a silvery underside.
Flowers: Rich, crimson red flowers in a slightly lax, rounded truss. Prolific in November.
History: Bred by Edgar Stead at Ilam, Christchurch, one of the Scarlet King Group. Named for the proximity to the Kaka cage, where the mountain parrots were held.
Additional information: Occasionally available in New Zealand.
