Rhododendron 'Lemon Lodge'

Life form: Shrub - evergreen
Comments: Habit: Free flowering medium vigorous shrub growing to 3m x 3m. Height in 10 years is about 1.2 m.

Foliage: Broad elliptic foliage, glaucous light green when young.

Flowers: Good umbel of 10-12 wide funnel shaped flowers, pale primrose yellow in October and early November. Soft yellow in bud, opens cream with lemon centre. One of the best lemon coloured rhododendrons.

History: A self-pollinated seedling of R. Prelude. Named at Pukeiti by Graham Smith after the lemon colour of the flowers and the nearby 'Lodge'.
